This evening, several local business owners and entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas for a chance to win money for their business.
In the "Life's a Pitch" event, hosted by Texas City Economic Development Corporation, each entrepreneur will present their businesses to a panel of judges. And just like you might have seen on TV, the judges can ask questions and give feedback, and, in the end, some of the participants will walk away with a cash prize to invest in their business.

The evening starts at 5 p.m., with a business expo/market at the Showboat (416 6th Ave N). Each participant will have a booth space, where guests can learn more about their products or services.
Then, at 6 p.m., the competition begins.
Afterwards, all of the business owners will officially graduate the Mortar program, a 15-week entrepreneurship academy in partnership with Vision Galveston, in a ceremony that will start at 7:30 p.m.
Everyone in the community is invited to cheer on the participants, enjoy a free taco bar and get to know some of the talented people behind small businesses in our community!
