I was in the Huntsville area and stopped into Farmhouse Cafe & Bakery! I think the universe wanted me to stop into this small, quaint restaurant because I was going to discover something that would change my life...broccoli cornbread!
We ordered the Combo Appetizer Platter which is a combo of fried avocados, fried pickles, fried green tomatoes and onion rings.
While we waited for our appetizer, our waiter delivered a large basket of fresh rolls and broccoli cornbread. This was hands down the best cornbread I’ve ever tasted! This buttery cornbread had the most delicious flavor. I could have just eaten a basket of the cornbread and been a happy camper!
After the bread basket, our appetizer was delivered and it was served with homemade ranch dressing for dipping and the family devoured the entire thing!
For our entrees we ordered the Classic Club which had baked ham, turkey, cheese, crisp bacon, lettuce, mayonnaise, and tomato on honey wheatberry toast, served with french fries and the Monte Cristo which is fresh bread, baked ham and American cheese battered and fried, then dusted with powered sugar and garnished with raspberry jam, served with french fries.
The Classic Club was fantastic! The crispy bacon was my favorite part of the sandwich because after all, who doesn’t love lots of crispy bacon?!?!?!
Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery also makes homemade pies and cakes daily. I wish we had room to enjoy dessert but we were so full from our delicious meal. We will definitely be back the next we are in Huntsville and will try and save room for dessert! The next time you are looking for an amazing meal, a stop into Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery in Huntsville, Texas is a must!
