TEXAS CITY, TX – The City of Texas City is inviting families to a morning of fun and fishing this Saturday.
The City will host Kid Fish on Saturday, Jan 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. It will be held at the pond at Carver Park, where more than 1,000 rainbow trout will be stocked for the event.
And although it is tailored to kids between the ages of 6-12, all ages are welcome.
“This is a good event to get kids and families outside together without electronics, just creating memories and relaxing,” said Byron Sefcik, the City’s Parks Superintendent.
Guests are welcome to bring their own fishing rod and reel, or they may use equipment provided by the City (although supplies are limited). The first 150 people in attendance will also be served free hot dogs.
Kid Fish is a completely free event. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
Carver Park Pond is located at 6615 Park Avenue. For more information about Kid Fish, call (409) 643-5990 or visit www.texascitytx.gov.
