Haunted Texas: The Menard House

Built in 1838 for a prominent Galveston landholder, the Menard House is one of the oldest existing buildings on the island and purportedly one of the most haunted.
Over the years, there have been many ghostly reports of groups of children playing in the garden, where several storm victims had been buried.
Many also say that they have seen Menard’s daughter’s ghost crying by the grand staircase, mourning the lover who jilted her.Some people who have slept there have said they felt somebody watching them in their sleep or also heard laughter.
